BBF Responds to Hurricane Katrina
August 30, 2005

Brother's Brother Foundation (BBF) is sending the first of many tractor trailer load of assistance to those in need due to Hurricane Katrina. A donation of 5,000-plus pairs of new shoes donated by CROCS Inc. of Boulder, Colorado will be sent by the CROCS Corporation. Tia Williams-Mattson, PR Manager of CROCS, said the company is dedicated to helping hurricane victims in this hour of need. “We hope that something as simple as a new pair of shoes can be of some small comfort to those who have lost so much in this disaster,” said Williams-Mattson. Donations from BBF will be distributed through the Church of Latter Day Saints and others. Additional shipments of new clothing and hygiene items donated by American Outpost and PSSI Stadium Corporation will be sent soon. BBF is requesting only financial support (no clothing or food) to send additional emergency aid as quickly as possible

BBF, a 50-year old Pittsburgh-based international charity, has provided over $2.3 billion of medical supplies, textbooks, food, seeds, and other humanitarian supplies to people around the world in over 135 countries. With the help of gifts from the general public, corporations and the US government, in 2007 BBF sent product contributions totaling more than $335,603,000 (over 2,000 tons) to those in need in 62 countries including Argentina, Benin Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Madagascar, Montenegro, Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Serbia, Sudan and Uruguay.

Forbes Magazine, the national business periodical, listed Brother's Brother Foundation as the only charity to receive 100% or higher rating in a special issue,
2007 investment guide charity, December 2006. The issue lists
200 charities, rating them on how efficiently they collect and distribute donations.
