Disaster Response Program

BBF’s Disaster Response program focuses on working hand-in-hand with first responders and relief agencies in the affected areas to provide ongoing support. This includes the sourcing and staging of resources, creating partnerships with transportation networks, and working with local partners and other VOADs (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster), along with engaging with volunteers to sort and send disaster relief supplies.

Program Highlights

BBF responded to 19 disasters throughout 2023, providing grants, medication, healthcare equipment, and humanitarian supplies for relief and recovery efforts. These disasters included the war in the Middle East, earthquakes in Nepal, Morocco, and Afghanistan, tornadoes in Kentucky and Tennessee, floods in Libya, wildfires in Maui and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

BBF continues our biggest response to date with our relief work in Ukraine. We have supplied critically needed medications, medical supplies, and humanitarian relief to those impacted in Ukraine itself and to refugees in Poland.
