One of BBF’s core activities for many decades, this program is centered around collecting medical equipment and supplies primarily from our hospital and other types of medical donor partners. We send these donations, often along with pharmaceuticals, to medical facilities around the globe. The scarcity of available resources makes these items especially useful to help treat patients in hospitals and clinics. In 2022, BBF sent the volume equivalent of 109 ocean-going container shipments to partners in 14 different countries. The pharmaceuticals and medical supplies supported local hospitals, clinics, HIV/AIDS facilities, homes for the elderly, and homes for orphaned and abandoned children.
Despite ongoing travel restrictions due to COVID-19, BBF equipped 34 Med-Surg trips in 2022.
Since 1972, BBF has been receiving short-dated pharmaceuticals (generally less than one year to expiration) from a number of pharma donors. We work closely with our healthcare partners on the ground in developing countries as well as our Med-Surg teams to donate this much needed medicine to their patients. In 2022, BBF shipped 274 million doses of medicines to partners in 14 different countries and provided pharmaceutical supplies for 34 Med-Surg trips to help those who need it most.
Brother’s Brother Foundation facility is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and is regularly audited by our major pharmaceutical donors for safety, security, and proper procedures.
We have the privilege to partner with many pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers, and providers through the United States. Our Med-Surg program assists medical providers as they travel around the world to help patients in underserved communities. By working directly with medical professionals on the ground, BBF can ensure its pharmaceutical donations are safely distributed to the communities most in need. in 2022, BBF donated 274 million doses of medicines that were distributed to 34 Med-Surg trips across 14 different countries. Despite limitations caused by COVID-19, these medications provided countless patients with critical treatments needed to recover.
