Infrastructure Programs

Brother’s Brother foundation envisions a world where aid leads to sustainable development and through our infrastructure programs we aim to provide lasting solutions of the highest quality to those in need. Our programs focus on the areas of solar power and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene). Creating reliable, clean, and affordable access to energy provides security to communities in need leading to a prosperous future for all.

Solar Program

Brother’s Brother Foundation has been working with partners to help install solar panel systems since early 2013. The program began with first supplying batteries to six hospitals in Liberia and since then has grown in size and scope. In 2023, Brother’s Brother Foundation supported solar infrastructure projects in Liberia, Ghana, and the US (Puerto Rico) and continued the partnership with Pickering Energy.

Our Commitment

In 2022, BBF’s headquarters office and warehouse converted to sustainable energy through the installation of solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations. The solar panels are expected to offset 92% of energy needs, annually.

We are committed to our mission of providing aid that leads to reliable, clean, and affordable energy.

WASH Program

The most important life sustaining element that every person requires is access to clean water. Brother’s Brother Foundation is furthering our commitment to sustainable development through our Infrastructure program WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene). This program aims to reduce the risk of water-borne illness and the spread of illness while increasing access to clean water and hygiene education. In 2023, BBF funded a water project in Zambia and supported a project for young women in Zimbabwe.

WASH Partners

Water and sanitation projects continued in Honduras, Liberia, and Guatemala, as did our partnership with Pittsburgh-based non-profit Casa San Jose. Casa San Jose sews washable feminine hygiene pads for school-age girls in developing countries. Eventually, Casa San Jose plans to create jobs abroad by hiring women in these regions to sew the pads. In 2022, BBF installed modern bathroom facilities, equipped with running water at the Monja Blanca School in Chisec, Guatemala. The project included a handwashing station and water collection and storage tanks.
