BBF has provided an additional grant to Life for Relief and Development (LIFE) to assist families displaced by recent earthquakes in Afghanistan. Through this project, LIFE will procure and distribute heavy winter blankets, coats, hats, and gloves to families affected by the disaster.

This follows BBF’s earlier grant in September 2025, which enabled LIFE to provide food assistance to 150 households in Kunar Province. Each household received a food basket containing flour, rice, macaroni, chickpeas, sugar, semolina, salt, and cooking oil. The project reached 1,050 individuals, with an estimated 500 additional people benefiting indirectly through shared food and reduced strain on local markets.

LIFE implemented both projects in coordination with local authorities, community elders, and shura councils to identify the most vulnerable households. Despite road damage and security concerns, distributions were completed safely and in full.

BBF’s continued support aims to address urgent winter needs and sustain recovery for families affected by the earthquakes.
