Expanding Access to Advanced Cancer Care in Ukraine
Clinicians from Bogomolets National Medical University (NMU) in Kyiv recently completed a two-week radiation oncology training program at the AHN Cancer Institute in Pittsburgh. Supported through a Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF) grant, the training covered travel and participation for one physician and two medical physicists as they advanced their skills in operating radiation therapy technology.
This hands-on experience will support NMU’s efforts to strengthen cancer treatment services and expand access to modern care for patients in Kyiv.
The initiative builds on BBF’s prior support for NMU, including facilitating the shipment of a linear accelerator (LINAC) to Ukraine to help establish a cancer treatment center at the university.
