BBF and partner Cross Catholic Outreach (CCO) donated and distributed more than 16.3 million doses of prescription and over-the-counter medications in more than 214,000 bottles and packages to those in need in Central America and the Caribbean. These medicines included treatments for cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, nervous system, inflammatory, and infectious conditions. In addition, more than 299,000 cases, packages, and units of medical and related supplies, along with nearly 1,100 pieces of medical equipment, were distributed across Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic.

These shipments departed BBF’s Pittsburgh facility in late 2025, carrying medicines, medical supplies, and equipment destined for healthcare facilities and communities throughout Central America and the Caribbean. Following ocean transit and customs clearance, the containers arrived at their destinations and were distributed in the first half of 2026.

Support from BBF and CCO enabled six high-capacity partner organizations to expand access to essential medicines and medical supplies for underserved communities throughout their regions. These organizations have the infrastructure and expertise to receive, manage, and distribute medical donations effectively, helping to address critical gaps in national healthcare systems. Through their networks of hospitals, community clinics, dispensaries, and other healthcare providers, they ensure that essential resources reach vulnerable and underserved populations.

From CCO: “Through these local partners and [BBF’s] generous support, communities gain greater access to essential healthcare resources, helping improve health outcomes and strengthen long-term community well-being.”

BBF is pleased to continue its partnership with CCO to provide essential medicines, medical supplies, and equipment to healthcare providers serving communities throughout Central America and the Caribbean.
