As the war in Ukraine continues to take a devastating toll, the need for mental health support and specialized medical training remains critical. In response, BBF has provided two new grants to Heart & Valor and MedGlobal—expanding access to trauma rehabilitation for children and strengthening medical care for those wounded by the ongoing conflict.

For children in Ukraine, the war is an ever-present reality, shaping their daily lives with fear, loss, and uncertainty. Many have experienced the trauma of shelling, the destruction of their homes and schools, and the devastation of losing loved ones. To help these children heal, BBF has provided a second grant to the Heart & Valor Foundation, a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to aiding Ukraine’s most vulnerable.

In addition to psychological trauma, the war has placed immense strain on Ukraine’s medical system, with hospitals facing a growing number of war-related injuries. In recognition of this urgent need, BBF has also provided a third grant to MedGlobal, an organization providing critical medical training in conflict zones.

This grant will support specialized trauma training for surgeons treating complex battlefield injuries. As the war continues, ensuring that Ukrainian medical professionals are equipped with the latest techniques in trauma care is essential for saving lives and improving long-term patient outcomes.
