Ukraine Shipments Merges Humanitarian Efforts Across State Lines
BBF has sent a shipment of medical and wound care supplies to the Ukrainian National Medical University in Kyiv, Ukraine, where it will be distributed to frontline community hospitals in urgent need of supplies.
This is the third shipment of supplies BBF has sent to the university since the war started.
Priority medical and surgical items provided in the first two shipments were donated by the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia. A group of volunteers from the University of Virginia (UVA) Health System, led by Dr. Tyvin Rich, Vladimir Kirichenko, Linda Varin and LaDelle Gay, collected and packed medical donations to send to BBF.
The most recent shipment of supplies was donated by UVA Health System, Highmark Health and Allegheny Health Network (AHN) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Trinity Health System in Steubenville, Ohio. Dr. Alexander Kirichenko, Kim Volpe and Austin Conner, volunteers from the AHN Cancer Institute, visited BBF’s warehouse to help prepare the supplies for shipment.
