Ultrasound Equipment Delivered to Support Pediatric Care in Ukraine
A medical equipment grant awarded by BBF in late 2025 is now making an impact in Ukraine. Through BBF’s partnership with Operation Mordechai, a critically needed ultrasound machine has arrived at the Jewish Medical Center in Dnipro, where it will expand diagnostic capabilities in the surgical center and new emergency room.
BBF was recently notified that the equipment has arrived safely and that physicians are already undergoing training to begin putting it into immediate use. The Jewish Medical Center provides care to internally displaced persons, refugees, elderly individuals, and low-income patients, and serves both members and non-members of the Jewish community. Special attention is given to children from low-income families, with pediatric services that include medical consultations, diagnostic care, monitoring of chronic conditions, and early disease detection.
The newly delivered Toshiba ultrasound system includes multiple probes that will allow clinicians to perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging, expanding the hospital’s ability to assess and treat patients quickly in emergency situations.
As the war in Ukraine continues to place strain on healthcare infrastructure, access to reliable diagnostic equipment remains essential. This new equipment will help strengthen the hospital’s ability to provide timely care for children and families who need it most.
