Back-2-School Event Brings Community Together
In Effingham County, Georgia, the 13th Annual Back-2-School Blowout turned the height of summer into a celebration of learning and community. Nearly 1,500 students and their families came out for a day filled with free school supplies, helpful resources, and services to help kids start the year ready to succeed. Brother’s Brother Foundation joined in by sponsoring the hydration station, making sure everyone could stay cool and refreshed in the August heat.
For more than 50 years, Action Pact has been dedicated to improving lives and strengthening communities. As a community action agency, Action Pact works side by side with local partners to create opportunities, build connections, and support the progress of individuals and families in the communities they serve.
The Blowout brought together 39 vendor teams offering everything from backpacks to information on local programs, and 60 volunteers who gave their time to help the event run smoothly. Outside, vendors braved the heat, and barbers from Los Barbers 912 kept their clippers buzzing for Operation “Fresh-4-School,” sending students home with fresh haircuts and big smiles.
By the end of the day, children were walking away with more than just supplies — they carried a renewed sense of confidence and encouragement for the year ahead. BBF’s participation reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting community-led efforts that strengthen education and open doors for local students.
Thank you all for your contribution and support! We couldn’t do what we do in the community without supporters like Brother’s Brother Foundation.
