BBF Grant Expands Counseling Support for Breast Cancer Patients
Brother’s Brother Foundation has awarded another grant to Keepers of the Flame Foundation to provide free counseling for breast cancer patients and survivors in Southeast Georgia and the Lowcountry.
A breast cancer diagnosis can bring uncertainty and emotional stress alongside the physical demands of treatment. For many patients and survivors, the cost of therapy and the limited availability of counselors create additional barriers to receiving support.
Keepers of the Flame has served breast cancer patients since 2022. Its Therapy Program, launched in 2024, connects participants with professional mental health services to help them cope with the emotional effects of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
Through the program, approved participants can receive therapy sessions at no cost. Applications are available through the Keepers of the Flame website and at local hospitals.
BBF’s support will help Keepers of the Flame respond to growing demand and provide patients with access to counseling without adding another financial burden during treatment and recovery.
