BBF has provided a grant to Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR) to support critical search, rescue, and recovery operations following severe flooding in Texas. TEXSAR, a volunteer-led organization, deploys only at the request of lead agencies such as the Texas Division of Emergency Management and local sheriff’s offices. Its trained volunteers, specialized equipment, and K9 teams are currently assisting with recovery efforts in affected communities, adapting daily to the needs identified by managing agencies.

The grant is part of BBF’s response to devastating flooding that struck over the July 4 weekend. The flash floods killed at least 135 people in Texas, with most deaths along the Guadalupe River in Kerr County. Local agencies launched emergency operations, and requests for federal disaster assistance are ongoing as communities work to recover.

BBF has committed $50,000 in financial support toward our initial response, with 100 percent of donations received designated for emergency relief and logistics. If you would like to contribute, credit card donations can be made at: www.brothersbrother.org by clicking on DONATIONS & choosing USA – US Disaster Relief in the dropdown menu.
