BBF Supports Vita Nova’s Employment Lab for Homeless Youth

BBF recently provided a grant to Vita Nova Inc. for the purchase of eight new 24-inch iMac computers, now fully installed in the organization’s refurbished Employment Lab in Palm Beach County, Florida.

The Employment Lab is designed to equip homeless and foster care youth with the tools and resources needed to pursue stable employment and achieve self-sufficiency. Research shows that young adults aging out of foster care often face significant challenges in the workforce, including fewer job opportunities, lower wages, and limited access to career guidance. Vita Nova addresses these gaps by combining housing, education, and employment support, with the Employment Lab serving as a cornerstone of their Pathways to Employment program.

The space underwent a full renovation, including new shelving, mural artwork, and upgraded workstations. Most notably, the addition of eight iMac computers, with keyboards, accessories, and reliable internet, has eliminated a major barrier in the digital divide. Youth are now able to prepare resumes, practice interview skills, access online training, and connect with employment opportunities in a supportive environment alongside their case managers.

Already, participants are reporting benefits from the new space, noting that the updated technology and inviting atmosphere are helping them build digital confidence, collaboration skills, and career readiness.

“We are grateful that you partnered with us to provide this wonderful facility for our homeless youth. It is our hope that in the future the Brother’s Brother Foundation and Vita Nova Inc. will collaborate in continuing to help provide resources and opportunities for homeless youth in Palm Beach County.” – Sherril Thwaites, Director of Grant Compliance and Quality Assurance for Vita Nova
