BBF Global Relief provided a grant to Doctors Collaborating to Help Children to support a program that provided three Ukrainian families with mental health services.
Dr. Gennadiy Fuzaylov, the founder of Doctors Collaborating to Help Children (DCTHC) and a practicing physician, intensivist, and anesthesiologist, has been bringing severely injured Ukrainian children to Shriners Children’s Hospital in Boston so they can receive the appropriate medical treatment. BBF Global Relief has supported several projects DCTHC has done since the start of the war in Ukraine, including providing prosthetics for children and traveling to Ukraine in 2023 to operate on 19 wounded children.
BBF’s most recent grant to Doctors Collaborating to Help Children provided mental health care to three families temporarily living in Boston while their children underwent treatment at Shriners.
The program conducted initial evaluations of six patients and provided each patient with ten counseling sessions that helped them significantly overcome war-related difficulties.
