The Vivekananda Tribal School in Kerala, India, serves 108 students and employs 27 staff who are dedicated to providing quality education and hostel facilities.

However, the school’s remote location and poor connection to the electric grid result in frequent power outages, leaving students and staff without electricity and other crucial services. The school is preparing to house new groups of children who have been orphaned or otherwise affected by the recent landslide disaster, further increasing the need for a stable power supply.

BBF Global Relief has given a grant to Solar Village Project to install three 1 kW solar systems with battery backup on three buildings within the Vivekananda Tribal Residential School campus. The project will provide access to continuous power in the main school building as well as the boys’ and girls’ hostels.
