Almost a dozen men were needed to unload the truck that arrived outside Akatsi District Hospital.  The 40′ container of medical supplies and durable medical equipment that left the Brother’s Brother Foundation warehouse earlier this year had finally arrived in Ghana – and it weighted more than 8,200 pounds.  

The shipment–18 hospital beds and mattresses, 14,400 N95 face masks, 12 birthing tables, and surgical tools–arrived in Ghana this spring.

“Amid all the numerous challenges we faced getting this container from the port we are so grateful, we are so so grateful for this donation,” Senyo Gbormittah, Hope for Ghana’s vice president of operations. “You are transforming lives you are changing the face of medical health in Ghana. You are changing the way our health system works.”

This is BBF’s second shipment with Hope for Ghana, having sent 24 hospital beds to Akatsi District Hospital in the fall of 2022. BBF’s first shipment provided beds for the maternity unit.
