Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF) would like to thank the Pittsburgh community for its support of our response to the devastating impact and loss of life caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and the ensuing tornadoes in Southern Florida.

The generosity of individual members of our community has been supplemented by donations from Foundation and Corporate partners. These include a $500,000 grant from the Richard King Mellon Foundation and a $100,000 grant from the Eden Hall Foundation, along with grants from other family foundations.

“While Pittsburgh thankfully was spared the direct impacts of hurricanes Helene and Milton, we all have been touched by the images of the devastation they inflicted,” said Sam Reiman, Director of the Richard King Mellon Foundation. “The Brother’s Brother Foundation offers people here in Pittsburgh the opportunity to help our southern-state neighbors through a local organization. The Foundation is pleased to support the Brother’s Brother Foundation’s important work, and we invite others who also want to help to do the same.”

Sylvia Fields, Eden Hall Foundation President, commented: “Hurricanes Helene and Milton forced thousands of people from their homes and destroyed millions of dollars in property in their wake as they cut a disastrous path through the southeast.  For nearly 70 years Pittsburghers and the Eden Hall Foundation have relied on the Brother’s Brother Foundation to provide timely delivery of critical resources to those affected.  We are pleased to partner, once again with the Brother’s Brother Foundation.”

BBF has also received financial support from Highmark/AHN plus eight truckloads of PPE and other medical supplies, fifty-four pallets of water from Giant Eagle equaling over 108,000 bottles, a truckload of safety equipment from MSA, over 2,000 bottles of Boost nutritional drink from Owens & Minor, and thousands of hygiene kits donated and packed by organizations and community members across Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas..

100% of funds received for BBF’s response are being used to support emergency relief and logistics. Credit card donations can be made at www.brothersbrother.org by clicking on DONATIONS and choosing USA – US Disaster Relief in the dropdown menu.  Checks should be made payable to Brother’s Brother Foundation and sent to the address below.
