In January 2025, BBF supported the Global Smile Foundation (GSF) on their medical trip to Benjamin Bloom Hospital in San Salvador, El Salvador. BBF provided surgical instruments to assist GSF in their work for children with cleft lip and palate.

During their time in El Salvador, GSF’s medical team screened 77 patients, ranging in age from infants to 18 years old. The team performed 39 surgical procedures and 188 dental treatments, improving the health and confidence of children and their families.

The Global Smile Foundation specializes in providing comprehensive cleft care in low- to middle-income countries. For over 37 years, their volunteer teams have returned to the same locations annually to ensure continuity of care for patients. By offering surgery, dental care, and long-term follow-up, GSF helps children overcome the challenges of cleft conditions and build brighter futures.
