Stories of Impact

Imagine the world where people get the help they need, when they need it the most. We strive to achieve that vision every day.

A Message of Thanks from MANNA Food Bank

One year after Hurricane Helene, our partners at MANNA FoodBank in Asheville, North Carolina, shared their heartfelt thanks for BBF’s support. In the aftermath of the storm, BBF provided two grants to help MANNA deliver emergency food and water to communities hit hardest across western North Carolina.

Their note is a reminder that recovery takes time—and that sustained support helps families rebuild long after the headlines fade.

“The Brother’s Brother Foundation’s investment last year made it possible to sustain food access through both crisis and recovery.

As we pass the one-year mark since Hurricane Helene, we here at MANNA FoodBank extend our deepest gratitude once again for your support during MANNA’s 2024–2025 fiscal year. The Brother’s Brother Foundation’s vital support ensured food resources continued to flow to neighbors across Western North Carolina through an exceptionally difficult year.

With the immediate crisis behind us, MANNA is now fully engaged in long-term recovery, which focuses on strengthening local food systems, supporting our partner network, and ensuring sustained access to healthy food for nearly 200,000 people each month. This transition is only possible because of the trust and investment of foundations like yours.

On behalf of MANNA’s Board, staff, and neighbors, we are deeply thankful for your commitment, which has helped ensure that families across our region have had reliable access to nutritious food during a time of great uncertainty. Your partnership continues to make a lasting difference for Western North Carolina.”
