BBF Global Relief has given a grant to the Heart & Valor Foundation to help Ukrainian children recover from the severe physical and mental trauma caused by the Russian invasion.

Heart & Valor Foundation, a non-profit organization based in New York, builds public awareness and support for Ukraine by raising funds for the rehabilitation of injured Ukrainian children and severely wounded Ukrainian soldiers. The organization is entirely run by volunteers with the sole goal of helping Ukrainian people survive and recover from the war.

BBF’s grant will help Ukrainian children trapped in the Zaporizhzhia region, just miles from the front line, by funding individual and group psychological therapy, art therapy, yoga classes, and sports activities. The program employs top psychology, art therapy, and yoga experts with training from UCLA, the University of Denver, and the Israel Trauma Coalition. Parents can also get counseling and guidance while their children attend playrooms under the supervision of a professional pedagogue-psychologist.

BBF’s grant will help at least 268 children a month for 6 months.

The yoga trainer works in a pair with therapists who can determine which children have psychological issues by looking at how they move during the yoga session. The therapists then approach the child or their parents about attending group or individual psychological sessions.
