BBF Global Relief sent a shipment of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals to St. George’s Hospital in Grenada, one of three public hospitals operated by the country’s Ministry of Health.

About 38 percent of the population in Grenada lives below the poverty line. The country’s healthcare system faces many challenges, including the constant lack of medication and medical supplies at its hospitals. Healthcare providers often tell patients that they cannot administer tests due to a lack of supplies or that medications will not be available for extended periods.

BBF’s shipment provided the hospital with 9,000 face shields and thousands of bottles of medications to treat hypertension, asthma, glaucoma, inflammatory, kidney and dermatological conditions. Many supplies in the shipment, including isolation gowns, overbed tables, carts, masks and walkers, were used immediately.

“A big thank you goes to the donors for this timely donation of medication and medical supplies,” said Kim Taylor, Deputy Director of St. George’s General Hospital. “We appreciate the continued support for hospital services as we strive to provide improved healthcare to the state of Grenada.”
