BBF Grant Supports Life-Saving Cardiac Care for Patients in Nigeria

BBF is proud to continue its partnership with VOOM Foundation, a nonprofit humanitarian medical organization dedicated to bringing life-saving cardiac care to underserved communities in Nigeria. BBF’s most recent grant to VOOM will support program costs such as scholarships for indigent patients, transportation of donated medicines, and shipping of medical technology and consumables critical to VOOM’s work.

The VOOM Foundation mobilizes highly skilled, 100% volunteer medical teams, primarily from the United States, to provide education, training, and direct care to patients who would otherwise lack access to specialized treatment. BBF’s grant helps cover essential logistics, including shipping supplies and providing funds to ensure that patients in need receive vital open-heart surgeries.

“Thanks to your incredible support in 2024, Brother’s Brother Foundation funded four more successful open-heart surgeries on indigent patients,” VOOM shared. “Last year, we updated you on Vincent, a 12-year-old boy who received a mitral valve replacement on November 4, 2022. While we were on our fall mission in 2024, Vincent returned to visit and receive his two-year post-operative appointment. We are excited to share that he has a clean bill of health. He is growing fast, thriving in school and extracurricular activities with his friends and family. His family is eternally grateful! Not only for VOOM volunteer medical staff but for partners like Brother’s Brother, who supports these surgeries. Vincent aspires to be an engineer or a doctor!”

BBF’s grant to VOOM Foundation ensures critical resources—funding, equipment, and medical supplies—continue to reach patients in need. By supporting programs like these, BBF helps address gaps in healthcare access for underserved communities.
