BBF Global Relief donated nearly $10,000 of pharmaceuticals to support a medical mission trip that provided care to more than 800 patients in Guyana.

Power of a Nickel, an organization that provides quality healthcare and health education to underserved communities by partnering with local healthcare providers, traveled to Guyana for a week-long mission trip in July. The group provided primary care and dental care at a makeshift clinic held inside a church in a rural village. They also distributed eyeglasses to those in need.

BBF’s donation provided the group with antibiotics and medications to treat headaches, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Bottles of diclofenac sodium gel were particularly helpful for treating older patients with arthritis.

BBF’s Med-Surg program equips groups of doctors and healthcare professionals with pharmaceuticals for mission trips around the world. In 2023, BBF supported 43 Med-Surg trips that made a difference in 25 countries.
