Johnson & Johnson Volunteers Support BBF’s Disaster Response Program
Johnson & Johnson volunteers packaged more than 433 hygiene kits to support BBF Global Relief’s Disaster Response program.
Members of Johnson & Johnson’s oncology sales team visited BBF’s headquarters to assemble more than 400 hygiene kits for BBF’s disaster response program.
The team works remotely across Pennsylvania and New York, and volunteering at BBF gave employees an opportunity to catch up in person while working together to support those in need.

“We love getting together. Everyone has a different personality. It just ends up meshing really well, so we got to have a really great time while helping the community,” says Ashley Shimko, a senior oncology sales specialist who has worked at Johnson & Johnson for three years.
Shimko, a member of Johnson & Johnson’s Culture Team, first visited BBF during one of Johnson and Johnson’s previous volunteer days.
“We can all be down on our luck at some point, so being able to give back when we aren’t in that situation is great because it can happen to anybody,” she says.

Each hygiene kit contains the everyday essentials someone may need should they be displaced from their home in a disaster, including wipes, shampoo, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products.
BBF’s hygiene kit program has provided thousands of kits to communities around the globe, helping Ukrainian refugees, families who lost their homes in the Maui wildfires, and Pittsburgh’s unhoused community.
