The Right Tools at the Right Time
BBF’s third year of Adopt-A-School support delivers supplies to students and teachers.
BBF has completed a grant to The Education Partnership (TEP) to support the third and final year of the three-year commitment to the Adopt-A-School program. Supply kits funded through BBF’s sponsorship were distributed to students and staff at Pittsburgh West Liberty PreK-5 School in Allegheny County, helping ensure that every student has the tools they need to participate fully in the classroom.
Across Southwestern Pennsylvania, more than 112,000 students lack consistent access to essential school supplies, creating barriers to participation, engagement, and academic success. The Education Partnership addresses this gap by providing free school supplies year-round to students, teachers, and school staff in under-resourced schools throughout the region. By equipping classrooms with the materials they need, TEP helps offset the impact of school budget shortfalls and reduces disparities in access to educational resources.
Through this year’s grant, BBF is sponsoring Pittsburgh West Liberty PreK-5 School for the 2025–2026 school year. This support provides each student with a personal, age-appropriate school supply kit containing brand-new core materials needed for daily learning. The sponsorship also covers a significant portion of the cost of free materials and resources provided to teachers and staff at the school.
Founded in 2009, TEP has worked to improve educational equity by ensuring that access to basic supplies does not determine a student’s ability to succeed. As the only nonprofit in the region providing consistent, free access to school supplies year-round, TEP focuses on building a foundation that supports students throughout their academic journey and into adulthood.
