At 11:30 am EST 180,000 surgical masks from Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF) in Pittsburgh, PA took off aboard an Air China cargo flight from JFK. These masks will be distributed to medical facilities fighting Covid- 19 in China. The newly named Coronavirus continues to affect large swaths of the Chinese population as it spreads from Wuhan, Hubei Province.

In response to the ongoing earthquakes in Puerto Rico, Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF), a 61-year-old Pittsburgh-based international aid agency, is sending assistance. 5.8 and 6.4 magnitude earthquakes hit Puerto Rico on January 6 and January 7. These events, as well as the ongoing tremors, have deeply affected communities already struggling with compromised infrastructure since Hurricane Maria. BBF has worked with local partners in Puerto Rico since the 2017 Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
